The Hell: Multiplayer over Hamachi

To play Diablo Hellfire: The Hell mod via Internet , you'll have to use Hamachi, a program that makes games believe you are playing on IPX network while really playing over the TCP/IP protocol. Here's the step-by-step guide on what to do to start playing Diablo: The Hell in Multiplayer mode within 10 minutes: 1. Download Hamachi and Setup Guide from here. 2. Install Hamachi. 3. Open Hamachi. Go to "Configure Hamachi -> Preferences -> System" and uncheck "Automatically update Hamachi". 4. Open "The Hell over Hamachi setup guide.pdf" (second file inside your downloaded archive from step #1) and follow the instructions. 5. In Hamachi push the button "Create or join Networks" and select "Join an existing network". Then in the pop-up window enter the login: "thehellmod" (w/o quotes, exactly as it's written here, those networks are case-sensitive) and the password: "mordor". 6. Now you're connected to Diablo: The Hell network in Hamachi. Look for other online members and tell'em you wanna play. If you can't join this network then it's likely to be full. In this case I suggest you join 'thehellmod2' network, if it gets full too, then try thehellmod3, thehellmod4, etc. Password for all them is the same (mordor). Hamachi is no battle.net, here games are pre-arranged. There's a low chance of meeting someone on-line by accident. Arrange games with your buddies and get online with them. Or use this forum to arrange games with the members and play together. That's the way to do it. If you still have a problem you can't solve, describe it here and remember that the more details you give, the better will be the answer If you quit playing online or the game at all, please delete yourself from the network so that others won't see all these dead network members And by the way, if you quit playing this mod, I'd like to know why. Tell me about it or whatever, such info could be useful. |

A friend has Windows Vista and can't play The Hell with Hamachi. Although he manually installed IPX Protocol, he can't create a game selecting this protocol. He followed instructions in the pdf guide and has the good version of Hamachi. Does anyone have Vista and encountered problems ?

If he got involved with Vista now, he should know there's no IPX protocol support in it. He might need some sort of emulation software. He could try the link below:

I followed these steps exactly, however, both my friend and I can only create games, there is no join option. |

I assume you both have Win XP Have you both set up your network settings as in the setup guide file? |

Yes, we both followed the directions in the PDF, and we can both access IPX now, but there is no join game option Добавлено (16.12.2007, 15:36)

You both have Hamachi 1015 and auto-updating disabled? Did you two reboot your PCs after setting the whole thing up? (sometimes it solves the problem) If that won't help you then I don't know what to say about it. Only maybe ask for support on Hamachi forums?  |

Don't worry about it, I solved the problem. I had to enable IPX protocol on Hamachi, as well as my base connection! |

thank for the help Mordor also got it to work the hole hamachi thing but one thing is missin how do I create games so others can see them like here is the problem when I go and join existing network than type thehellmod4 for example i go to the list than shows me alist of games to join or who is offline but how do i make people see my game in the list as online and ready in thehellmod4 for a example again it says i am offline how do i change it and when i go to create a game no one joins because i dont know how to make games but create them in the hell menu multiplayer ipx create ect.. but what do i also have to do please help

god damn man! can't you write normal?? from what you've written, it's hard to understand what it's about use commas and dots, divide sentences where needed. the way you write them now, it's annoying to read those posts. |

me and someone on one of thehellmod hamachi networks tried to play diablo 1.09b over hamachi... our hamachi versions match and we followed the setup thing sort of... followed it enough to get into the LAN ipx multiplayer thing with hamachi BUT
whilst we can both create games in LAN ipx... there is no "join games' option...
nothing except the create game option. Can you help us? what have we done wrong? PS. we both know that we could just use battle.net... but we are trying to get hamachi to work... and as I've said over the boards so many times, I won't have hellfire till several days from now. ^^ that's why we're doing it with diablo 1.09b

Have you both disabled ipx protocol on base connection? And do you both have the same version of hamachi FOR SURE(after instalation you have to disable automaticial update option). Are you both online on same network ? |

It shouldn't matter that if we have the same version of hamachi or not should it? the "join game" option should be there regardless I think. and yes I am damned sure because we both checked our hamachi versions. And yes we were on the same network and online.  Mordor can you help me  Quote whilst we can both create games in LAN ipx... there is no "join games' option... I don't need a working LAN connection do I? I can't seem to find the LAN wires that came with the router

you don't see each other's games. check you have firewalls disabled
make sure you're both running WinXP (not Vista ffs)
check you both have Hamachi version 1.0.1.5
check you both have auto update disabled
check you are both on the same network and online
check you both have the same version of TheHell
check you both have system settings setup exactly as it's said in diablo hellfire hamachi setup guide (do the tests)
game is created in Local Area Network (IPX), then the other one should see the name of the game and be able to join apart from that, I can't say more |
