Blizzard's character artists used [3DSMAX + Photoshop] for Diablo.

Now it's time to get familiar with 3dsMax, I'd say twisted

And if someone is familiar with 3dsmax, report here

How much do you pay? If you pay the same money that Blizzard's character artists get I am the guy you are looking for :P LOL joke :P
Anyway what new animations are you planning :)? Or is this work only for changing animations so they will fit better in new resolutions?

there are no plans for modified/additional animation.

but knowing means 'warned', and warned means 'armed'.

in the future this info could prove useful

I have an older version of 3dsmax and photoshop but probably more recent than the one they used to make Diablo. It was extremely time consuming so I never really got into it.

hm... I'm familiar with 3dsmax got the 8th version of it and got photoshop cs 3.
I can't say I'm some kind of a pro in both of them but I can try do somethng in 3dsmax I know it better than photoshop.
If you could explain me some basic steps, I mean how exacly do you want me to do it, where to get the models from etc. I could try come up with something.

But as i said I'm not an artist and I use 3dsmax 8 only as a hobby sometimes.

http:\\3dk.org\ - useful tutorials and stuff about 3dsmax\maya\cinema 4d etc. all CGI stuff.

I downloaded the .bmp files you have uploaded.
Did you render them frame by frame and saved each as a .bmp?

at the moment, only area where animation could be welcome is character looks.
if I manage to create more room for new monsters by relocating and expanding base monster table, then new monster animations will also become of importance

animation was decompiled to single bmp files, then each file was edited manually (!), afterwards they were recompiled.

OMG you like made it in paint or something image by image (you are crazy if so) =)
I downloaded some mpq extractor but I can't tell want files are the .max/.3ds are they are all unknown00000...
If you could explain me how to find them I'll be able to help more using 3ds max!

again, I wrote somewhere here about viewing mpq contents. some sort of 'how to' guide. search for it.

I wouldn't want to write it all again, it's a suicide

mmm. I cant find it :( anyway I'll search google for some more mpq extractors, and If i'll be able to locate the 3dsmax files if they exist I ould tweak them and play around with them.

I got to view the extantion of the files in the .mpq.
there were 4 of them: .pcx/.wav/.xxx/.smk
the thing is that not even one is used by 3ds amx.
I guess that we'll have to finds the 3d models in the web, and that's what i'm doing right now.

hm... I couldn't find any 3ds max files as much as I search so I decided to create my own char in 3ds max, because of the 96x96 resolution I can make it very simple and still lk good enough for diablo :)
If you can try describing the lok you want it to be.
skin color, armor, legs, boots, head/helm. so that I could peak the correct textures.

You see the problem is because I dont have the original models I cant just change the animation but I need to create the whle thing from scratch that's why I need yu to describe me the character you like it to look like, and hpefully I'll be able to make it lk good enough.

skin white, maybe tanned a bit
armor leather type, but less skin revealing (compared to scout/rogue)
legs,, hmm... well something sexy is always welcome, OR maybe just all hidden under clothes
boots, well, high, or something in assassin style
head: could be a hood in leather armor, something like great helm wrapped with leather in med/heavy armor
arms: could use katars/ claws/ scissors/ curved blades (kukri,dadao, scimitar ,sabre type)

also, I think, you would need detailed information about her timings with weapons, + block and hit recovery timings

right?
